What Happens During a Hearing Evaluation at Our Bel Air Office?
A comprehensive hearing test at Hearing Assessment Center takes about an hour and is completely painless. Our doctoral-level audiologist (Au.D.) will begin with a conversation about your hearing history and any specific concerns — whether that’s difficulty following conversations, ringing in your ears, or a loved one’s concern about your hearing.
The evaluation includes:
- Pure-tone audiometry — you'll listen for tones at different pitches and volumes to map your hearing range
- Speech recognition testing — measures how well you understand words at varying volumes
- Tympanometry — a quick check of your middle ear and eardrum health
- Results review — your audiologist will walk you through your audiogram in plain language and explain your options, with no pressure to purchase
